Ryoha~~ Today, while searching for accommodations to make the most of my Sydney trip, I heard about a hotel that offered unforgettable views and comfort, so I visited it.
With views of the Harbour Bridge, Luna Park, and the city, this hotel truly captured the essence of Sydney. It also offered access to ferries and trains to explore the city from right in front of the hotel, making it even more appealing. Let’s take a look at View Sydney, a Sydney hotel.

When I arrived at the airport and headed to View Sydney, my accommodation for the night, I took an Uber. There are several ways to get from Sydney Airport to the city center, such as by taking the Airport Rail Link or bus. However, Uber might be more convenient for first-time visitors. If you’re traveling alone, Uber is fine, but if you’re traveling with two or more people, a four-person vehicle costs around 60-70 AUD (approximately 65,000 KRW).
Public transportation is more convenient than Uber and the Airport Rail Link, which have hefty commissions. However, since most things can be a bit unfamiliar on your first visit to Sydney, I personally recommended using the drop-off service available on Klook. It not only dropped you off at your preferred location, but also pre-booked it to prevent frequent cancellations, allowing you to quickly get to your accommodation and other desired destinations.

View Sydney was easily accessible from Sydney Airport via the toll road, taking about 20 minutes. Check-in at View Sydney is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, but even though I arrived a little early by taxi, the staff were happy to help me check in, allowing me to recover from the flight fatigue. This made for a great first impression.

The View Sydney’s interior features a king-size bed, a dining table, and a large television. The room immediately felt remarkably clean. Since there aren’t any buildings larger than this hotel in the area, I booked it with the expectation that I’d get a great view. I was once again impressed by the room’s condition, which was even better than I expected.

Upon arriving at this hotel, dubbed the North Sydney Harbour View, my first thought was whether the view would be as stunning as the photos. The breathtaking view, which was every bit as stunning as the photos I’d seen before, left me speechless, and I felt the fatigue from my nearly 10-hour flight melt away.
I was truly blessed to have found a place with a panoramic view of the harbor, Circular Quay, and the Opera House. Having explored many Sydney accommodations, I couldn’t think of anywhere with a view as breathtaking. Booking the North Sydney Harbour View was the best decision I made during my Sydney trip.

The next thing that caught my eye was the electrical cord, which I had to research in detail before traveling to Australia. In Korea, 220v is used, so a separate transformer is not necessary, but in Australia, 220v is nowhere to be found and 230v is the standard, so it was absolutely necessary to prepare a 230v transformer in advance.

- Learn about high-current transformers used in Australia
The transformer we used, called ELDIECKS, not only converts to standard 220V, but also has two USB ports and three Type-C charging ports, allowing us to charge six devices with just one. This was quite appealing.
While this transformer is available at Daiso, we were concerned about the high current and the potential $1,600 fine in Australia, where fire safety laws are particularly strict. Therefore, we chose a transformer that can handle high currents safely. If you’re considering a transformer like this, I recommend referencing the link above.

The bed’s cushioning was quite good, and the semi-lights on both sides, excluding the main light, were attractive because they allowed for a more emotional atmosphere while viewing the night view.

The TV was a variety of programs like Netflix, but I don’t think I ever thought about watching TV while staying at the North Sydney Harbourview Hotel. It could be that I was traveling and arriving late, but the view was even more picturesque than what was on TV, and I was so absorbed in the view of the glittering Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city outside the window.

A minor disappointment at the North Sydney Harbourview Hotel was the overly well-stocked snack bar. While the wide selection of drinks, liquors, and snacks was nice, the fact that even bottled water was included in the snack bar was a bit disappointing.

We purchased bottled water from the convenience store located above and used it separately. While there was no charge for coffee, having to purchase water felt a bit disappointing and a bit cheesy.

A table and two chairs offer breathtaking views day and night, creating a special Sydney memory. With no restaurants open late, I often find myself bringing food and snacks. Sitting at the table and enjoying the moment, I can easily feel a surge of happiness filling me. I hope many people will experience the specialness of this place.

The bathroom was also quite clean, and the shower area was steps away, which was a nice touch, as it prevented water from overflowing after a shower. One minor disappointment was that the North Sydney Harbourview Hotel’s showerhead sprayed water from above, so I couldn’t use my own shower filter.
The hotel also has a hairdryer and iron, so you can easily iron out any wrinkled clothes from your bags after a long stay. The hotel also boasts some of the best views in Sydney. Finally, it’s conveniently located close to public transportation, making it a truly convenient place to explore. Why not start your Sydney adventure at the Harbourview Hotel?
